Understanding variations in colour appearance

Colour appearance can vary from screen to screen and printer to printer. The colours in your artwork may not print exactly as you see them on your screen because the screen 'lights up' images due to the way monitors display graphics.

Why is my artwork printing in a different colour?

Similarly, if you print your artwork on your desktop printer the colour appearance may vary from the end result due to desktop printers using a different printing method compared to the digital or lithographic press.

See 'Understanding the difference between Digital & Lithographic Printing' for more information.

EXAMPLE: On the screen dark shades of blue may look as you intend but appear as a deep purple when printed.

**Useful Information**

If you would like to ensure the colours of your artwork are as you desire before printing your full order, we can offer to print a hard copy sample for a small charge, adjusting the colours as necessary for the full run.
